What is Nāda Yoga?

Nāda Yoga is the study of sounds and their effect on our bodies. Sound is vibration, sound is living and when we feel the sound of our own voice in our bodies, it can help us to relax, to invigorate ourselves, to feel alive and content. In this type of class I often use a tanpura as a sound carpet and we start by listening to the tanpura sounds before we listen to our own voice with a soft hum and feel the gentle vibrations in our bodies. Your breath automatically deepens, becomes longer and calmer.



Why meditating with a Sanskrit Mantra?

A Sanskrit mantra is an ancient formula. The syllables and letters have their own vibration, their own energy. And when we create these sounds with our own voice, we bring them into our bodies and immerse ourselves in these energies. Apart from that, while we sing, we focus our brain on forming the words, listening to the sounds and feeling the vibrations of the mantra. It is difficult to think negative thoughts while doing this, and if thoughts do arise, we simply return to the words of the mantra and relax into them. You will see how beautiful and relaxing this can be.


We mainly chant so-called Santipath mantras, which are peace mantras and constructive kirtans. I briefly explain the meaning each time and always show the text on the screen. In addition to the literal translation of the mantra, it is much more about feeling the sounds of the individual syllables and words, i.e. experiencing the meaning not only through the intellect but with all the senses. The peace mantras are not directed at an Indian deity, but express a wish or request that we all probably cherish within. For example, "Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu", which means "may all beings be happy and free".

Mantra Meditations

Guided meditations with a bija mantra or the chanting / recitation of a shorter mantra for 108 times or chanting / recitation of a longer mantra for 21 times to immerse into the energy of the mantra. Offered on zoom as a stand alone class (CHF 15 to CHF 35), as part of a 40-Day Sadhana or also from time to time on Insight Timer on a donation basis.


40-Day Mantra Sadhana's on Zoom

Several times per year, I offer 40-day online Mantra Sadhanas via zoom. This is the most profound way to learn and experience a mantra. The following 40-day practices are planned for 2024: Cultivating the Power of the Sun & Friendship: June, 23 to August, 1st 2024. Food Blessing & Nourishing Vibes: September - November 2024. Transforming obstacles: October - December 2024.


Private Sessions

If you wish to work on a specific condition, I offer private 1:1 sessions on zoom. One Session usually takes 75 minutes for CHF 220. Payment in USD or EUR available upon request.

Why online and how does it work?

I offer most of my classes online to bring them to your home. Maybe you don't have time to travel, maybe the journey is too arduous because you are tired, have had an accident or are ill. Or maybe you have children or pets that you don't want to leave home alone. Then my online classes are right for you!


It's good if you have a quiet space for the class where you feel comfortable and undisturbed. But if your child walks into the picture, your cat sits next to you while chanting, or your dog barks, then that's all okay and welcome!


During classes via Insight Timer, I and the other participants cannot see you. So that you can see me better, I recommend using a device with a larger screen, for example a PC, laptop, iPad, but a smartphone will also work. During classes via Insight Timer, your microphone is muted. So you only hear your voice and mine and my harmonium and/or tanpura. Unfortunately, you can only communicate with me via Insight Timer via live chat. I would be very happy if you did!


For the classes I offer outside of Insight Timer, I use Zoom, and I ask all participants to turn on their cameras so that we can all see each other and build a community.
